There are over 750 of us, primarily linked because we share a similar family name, have the surname in our tree or a research interest in that name. Our project is not limited to one specific family or group. The purpose of this study is to establish the relationships and discover the origins of the many Bryan families and their ancestors, by use of positive DNA results.

Most of our members will use the Y-DNA STR tests such as Y-37 to start with and then use the more advanced tests (individual SNP tests, SNP packs, Big-Y700) to refine their understanding.

Other tests such as Family Finder (Autosomal DNA) and the Mitochondrial test can also be useful to help with research especially if there is a brick wall one is trying to solve.
