About us
The Hatteras and Ocracoke Family Finder Project has been established for people who descend from known ancestors who lived on Hatteras or Ocracoke islands, and who have taken the Family Finder test. The project is also open to those whose known ancestors lived elsewhere in the Outer Banks or in the coastal regions across from the Outer Banks, and are thought to be related to people from Hatteras or Ocracoke.
If you have not taken the Family Finder test, you are not eligible to join this project, but may be eligible to join our collateral projects: Hatteras Fathers and or Hatteras Mothers.
Very few, if any, e-mails will be sent through the project. To see what's going on in the project follow our project's Activity Feed. Not everyone appreciates e-mails from project administrators, and taking a blog approach allows people who are interested to subscribe without bothering those who aren't.
