About us

14 Sep 2023: Gareth Henson and Lucy Nelson volunteered to administer the project. Project administrators are volunteers and do not receive any type of compensation or discount. We do our best to respond promptly to inquiries.

Archived news from the original project administrator Miles Kehoe:

Project started May 4, 2009

First two members May 4, 2009.
Third member joined July 6. 2009.
Forth member joined August 30, 2009.
Fifth Member joined November 12, 2009.
Sixth Member joined December 9, 2009.

We have results from a fourth Keogh, who has tested with another lab. The results of this line appear to be M222+. The results cannot be shown on the results table, but will be entered under Project Results.

We have new results posted for a line possibly related to Henry Kehoe. This line was tested by the National Genographic Project, and may be able to join our Project.

I had my Y DNA tested in July of 2007, and until recently, I was the only Kehoe to be tested. It got lonely! Then another Kehoe had her Kehoe brother tested, and with her help the Project got under way!

We have since received test results from other Kehoe/Keoghs who have tested with other labs, and, although, they cannot join the Project, their results are valuable. Their results have been posted under "Project Results".

All I can think of is how many connections we would make, and how many questions would finally be answered if we could get to 100 members!

The Project goal is to connect Kehoe, Keogh (and variant spellings) Y lines through DNA testing. The Project also hopes to help members find their origin in Ireland, and see if members' DNA results match with Ancient Irish Genealogies.

For testers in Ireland, your testing will help further Genetic studies to determine when the ancestors of the present day Irish first arrived in Ireland, and from which part of the Continent they migrated. Testers in Ireland may also find distant relations who emigrated from Ireland to the New World and Australia.

Thanks, Miles Kehoe Project Administrator
