As of May 10, 2011 there is a small group that has started a DNA O'Keeffe group from around the world at Family Tree DNA. This will include the variant spellings of the surname and is open to those tested with the paternal y-DNA O'Keeffe chromosome. This group is hoping to attract those O’Keeffe’s, O’Keefe’s, Kee'fs, Keefe's from around the world to form a strong base that may help each find the area their ancestors came from in Ireland.
