This project culminates from 20 years of research into family history. Having amassed a wealth of information on the surnames of Springate and Springett I registered the study as a One Name Study Group with the Guild of One Name Studies in London, England, as a means of sharing data.

Through contact with many people bearing thse names I have managed to connect numerous lines.

There is a very large Springett/ate tree written up by a Sir Demetriadi in the first half of the 20th century which has many ommissions and errors
but I believe that the majority of lines connect to this "main tree" at some point in time.
