Българският ДНК Проект се стреми да натрупа база генетични данни за българи или за потомци на българи, чийто генетичен произход е български, катo при мъжете се проследява пряката мъжка линия (баща, дядо, прадядо и т.н.), както и пряката женска линия (майка, баба, прабаба и т.н.), докато при жените единствено пряката женска линия. Кам този проект могат да се включат всички българи живеещи извън територията на днешна България, като тези от Беломорска Тракия, Mакедония, Крайще (западните покраинини), северна Добруджа, Банатските българи, Бесарабските българи, българите населяващи Украйна, Русия, както и емигрантите живеещи в САЩ, Австралия и др. Участието на повече хора би спомогнало за по-точното определяне на характерните за нашия народ гени и произход, степента на родственост между различните участници в проекта, както и миграциите ни назад във времето.

Bulgarian DNA Project goals are to gather a DNA database from Bulgarians or descendants of ethnic Bulgarians, as with the men the direct paternal line is studied (father, grandfather, great grandfather, etc.) as well as the direct maternal line (mother, grandmother, great grandmother, etc.), while with the women only the direct maternal line can be revealed. In this project can also participate all the Bulgarians living outside the borders of modern Bulgaria, such as those from Western Thrace, Macedonia, Kraishte (the Western Outlands), Northern Dobrudja, also Banat Bulgarians, Bulgarians from Bessarabia, Ukraine, Russia as well the emigrants living in the USA, Australia, etc. The participation of more people would help to better reveal the genes typical of our ethnos, our origins and the level of relationship between all the project members as well as our migrations back in time. Le Projet Génétique Bulgare regroupe une baze de données ADN de toutes les personnes, dont les origines génétiques sont bulgares, autrement dit on poursuit la descendance directe paternelle (père, grand-père, arrière grand-père, etc.), ainsi que la descendance directe maternelle (mère, grand-mère, arrière grand-mère, etc.) chez les hommes et uniquement la ligne directe maternelle chez les femme. Dans le projet peuvent participer tous les Bulgares, résidents en dehors des territoires de la Bulgarie actuelle, ce de la région Thrace au nord de la Grèce, de la Macédoine, de la région Kraïchte en Serbie, la Dobroudja de Nord en Roumanie, les Bulgares de la région Banat (Roumanie), les Bulgares de Bessarabie (Moldavie), les Bulgares de l’Ukraine et de la Russie, ainsi que les émigrés au Etats-Unis, en Australie, etc. La participation de plusieurs personnes au projet pourra nous permettre d’avoir une image plus claire sur le génotype spécifique de notre nation et nos origines, les liens de parenté entre les participants, ainsi que les migrations de notre peuple dans le temps.
