About us

David Flough (also spelled Flaugh) lived in Clear Creek, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina as early as 1776 and died there in 1792. The spelling of the name was changed to Flow around 1800 and some family members chose to add an "e" on the end. According to Census records, David Flough had four sons and four daughters. Establishing the four sons and their descendants has been done through extensive research but is not without errors.

This project is an exciting adventure in which we hope to prove through modern science what we have not been able to prove through traditional methods.

We are extremely excited about this DNA project and hope the entire family catches the vision. We welcome any Flaugh/Flough/Flow/Flowe family member who wants to participate in the study.
