This project was begun by Reese Mozingo in an attempt to break through the brick wall in his family history. If you were not one of the people lucky enough to have your ancestors leave a surviving will, land record, or court settlement which named their children, you may be coming up against the brick wall in your own research. Through the use of dna testing we can possibly get around this wall by comparing the mutations that occur in the individual lines. Needless to say, the larger the number of different branches testing, the better the project will be. Many stories have been handed down regarding the family's heritage, but so far the country of origin for the Mozingo surname remains unknown. DNA testing is one tool in finding our ancesters but it can't totally replace conventional methods - visiting libraries, state and federal archives, courthouses, and the LDS Family History Centers. Our test results are more meaningful when there is a documented family history supporting the findings.
