Many Haydens, or variants of the name, in America are descended from either the Massachusetts Haydens or Maryland Heydons who immigrated from England in the 17th century. There may well be other Hayden lines in America and elsewhere. Some Hayden families have not yet been connected to any of the known lines. It is the objective of the Hayden DNA project to aide researchers in connecting families. As such, Hayden males of known ancestry, as well as unknown, are encouraged to participate in order to build a database that is useful to many researchers.
