About us
The MacAulays of County Antrim Project has been set up for specific MacAulay, McCaulley, McCauley, Macaulay, etc families who can trace their origin point back to County Antrim in what is now Northern Ireland (Ireland before 1921) or who have advanced Y DNA matches with men who can. This Project is supported directly by Clan MacAulay. The admins are currently Lucas McCaw and Kathy McCauley, the Heritage Secretary and the Genealogy Coordinator for the Clan MacAulay, respectively.
This Project will serve as a main communication point for these families, to recruit new paternal line males for Y DNA testing in order to expand our understanding of these families and their origin. Females who belong to these lines are also welcome, especially if they have a known male MacAulay of Antrim in their family.
A comprehensive genealogical genetic tree is being built and will be updated when new Y DNA data is made available. Specific testing strategies will also be discussed here in order to maximize the information for each branch.
Please see the "Background" section for theories about the origin of this County Antrim family.
