The Chamblee DNA Project
- Y-DNA Member Distribution Map
Our direct paternal ancestors have passed on their Y-Chromosome DNA (Y-DNA) generation
after generation. All lines began with our common paternal ancestry in Africa. Over
time, individual lines have branched, and, thus, they mark the path from Africa
to their locations in historic times. Each line's present geography shows the path
of this journey. Mapping the locations of our direct paternal ancestors helps us
see similarities and differences in migration patterns. This page displays a map
of the earliest known direct paternal ancestors for project members. To display
all members of the project, select All from the drop-down menu. You may also select
a specific subgroup from the drop-down menu. In most cases, each participant is
represented by a pushpin. However, if two participants share exactly the same map
coordinates, they will also share a pushpin. Clicking on a pushpin marker will display
the Y-DNA branch (haplogroup) and ancestry information for the project member(s)
associated with that marker.
