About us
Davy, Davy Crockett... We all know the song and we all know the lore surrounding this great Frontiersman and Statesman. We also all know that most of our Crockett families claim to be related to him either directly or as cousins, but that many of our Crockett families came from different areas of the country and it is not likely we are all directly related to this one man. Then there are the William's, other David's, John's, Alexander's, and so many other first names that match and crisscross this great county of ours. Where do they all come from and where do they all fit in our lineages. There are many written records we can follow but we sometimes must assume we have followed the right branch and the data conflicts at so many points and times. Many of us are bound only by family lore and the most likely path our ancestors took to get us to where we are today. Are we all, as some have theorized, branches on this one mighty tree? Or are there other trees in the forest; and from where did the winds blow the seeds of our tree? Science has now come to our aide in unraveling these mysteries. So let's find out where all the branches are on the trees we call Crockett, Crocket, and other possible variations of the surname.
