About us
By having a bigger database of Albanians in our project, we can achieve the following goals:
1. Understand our ancient origins and Y-DNA genetic make up.
2. Map out the genetic paternal lines, or Y-DNA haplogroups, of the Albanian tribes.
3. Grouping of our members with their closest genetic cousins within the same Bloodline (Y-DNA haplogroup), as we have done here.
4. Identify relationships between our members from the time of the appearance of Paleo-Balkan populations, such as Illyrians, all the way to the genealogical time-frame (last 1000 years).
5. Verify certain myths, such as, do certain tribes really descend from the same ancestor?
6. Help members who need help with their results as well as questions about where their lineage may hail from.
7. How our populations cluster to each other within our ethnic lands.
Finally, one of the goals of this project WILL NOT be to determine our ethnicity, or who is more "Albanian". Y-DNA haplogroups are not used for that. We are all Albanians and are related genetically to each other in one way or another :)
We would like to keep our project growing by testing new Albanian members. Feel free to support our project by clicking the DONATE link on the left. Funds can only be used to purchase tests at FamilyTreeDNA! Group administrators are not in any way affiliated with FTDNA. We are unpaid volunteers who have an interest in the history and genealogy of a geographic region, haplogroups, as well as helping project members with any questions they might have.

Duke pasur një databazë të madhe të shqiptarëve në projektin tonë, ne mund të arrijmë qëllimet e mëposhtme:
1. Kuptimi i origjinës sonë të lashtë, si dhe përbërja gjenetike sipas linjave atërore, apo Y-DNA haplogrupet.
2. Shënimi i linjave gjenetike atërore, apo Y-DNA haplogrupet, e fiseve shqiptare.
3. Grupimi i antarëve tanë me kushërinjtë më të afërt gjenetik nga i njëjti haplogrup, siç kemi bërë këtu.
4. Identifikimi i lidhjeve midis antarëve tanë që datojnë nga kohërat e shfaqjeve të popullatave Paleo-Ballkanike, siç janë Ilirët, deri në afatin gjenealogjik (1000 vitet e fundit).
5. Verifikimi i disa gojëdhanave, si për shembull, a rrjedhin disa fise nga i njëjti paraardhës?
6. Ndihma e antarëve me rezultatet, dhe nga mund të jetë origjina e linjës tyre.
7. Si krahasohen popullatat tona midis viseve të ndryshme etnike.
Së fundi, një nga qëllimet e këtij projekti NUK do të jetë për të përcaktuar kombësinë e dikujt antari apo grupi, ose kush është më "Shqiptar". Y-DNA haplogrupet nuk përdoren për këtë gjë. Ne të gjithë jemi shqiptarë dhe jemi të lidhur gjenetikisht me njëri tjetrin në një anë ose tjetër :)
