About us
The Allday - Alday Y-DNA Project on FamilyTreeDNA was founded in January of 2016 within the days of the first Allday Y-DNA results coming in. Dewayne Allday was the first Allday to arrive in the database and therefore, there was no Allday Project before that time, and consequently no one to run one. So, Dewayne created the Allday Project to benefit the study of the Allday and Alday families in the USA, England and all around the world. Since that time other dedicated cousins have stepped up and we've all become good friends. There is likely over 100 years of genealogical research experience between the four of us.
Any serious and experienced professional genealogists will tell you that Y-DNA is incredibly important to genealogy and can break down brick walls that documentation (or lack thereof) can't. In this project alone, Y-DNA has proven a number of significant things that the traditional research process missed and likely would have continued to miss forever. It is an instrumental part of genealogical surname studies and we are blessed beyond belief to have it available to us to study the Allday - Alday family in the United States, England, Spain, France, Germany and Allday - Alday migrations all around the world.
