By providing the known lineage information beginning with the earliest known ancestor, down to the test participant, we should, with enough test participants, be able to establish a DNA “signature” for the Anders BENGTSSON line. Once this “signature” is established, variations that appear through the random mutations that can occur in the Y-chromosome over time will allow us to differentiate some of the branches within the lines of descent.

Again, with enough tests in the database, this same process can occur in the other immigrant lines of descent as well.

Please note that no test participant, or any other living descendant, will be identified by name on this webpage. Participants who wish to be contacted by interested researchers can inform the group administrator should they wish their contact information passed along. Of course, all test participants are encouraged to sign the release form which comes with the test kit, which will allow them to contact directly any other test participant with matching test results.

Lastly, I would like to draw attention to the link found on the left side of this page called “Contribute to the General Fund”. This is a wonderful feature made available by Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), our testing firm, to enable those who may not be able to participate directly by submitting a DNA sample to make a contribution. Contributions to this fund will enable us to subsidize tests for those who may not be able to afford the test, and you can specify, should you wish to do so, that it be used for a particular individual or to test within a specific branch being researched. Any questions regarding the fund and its procedures can be directed to the group administrator.
