FAQ
FIRST THING TO DO:
Set your Privacy Settings accordingly so that the Project admin has at least limited access. If you do not check the Chambers/Chalmers Surname Project box, you will not show up in the DNA results linked sites where all the kits are subgrouped:
https://www.familytreedna.com/public/chambers?iframe=yresults
https://www.familytreedna.com/public/chambers?iframe=ycolorized
There are only 113 members showing up. We have 142 total members!
Recruit non-FTDNA users who have not tested at all AND those who have tested at non-FTDNA companies to come on over:
Here is the FTDNA main website:
https://www.familytreedna.com/
Look for Projects tab.
Scroll down a little to see the following Projects:
Y-DNA SURNAME PROJECTS
Y-DNA GEOGRAPHICAL PROJECTS
mt GEOGRAPHICAL PROJECTS
DUAL GEOGRAPHICAL PROJECTS
mt LINEAGE PROJECTS
Under the Resources tab back up near the top:
Learning Center
(great place to soak in all that DNA magic confusion!)hahaha
I manage the FTDNA Chambers/Chalmers Surname Project located here:
https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/chambers
My kit number is 8502.
Here is where they are located on Facebook:

If you have already tested with 23andMe, MyHeritage or AncestryDNA...
Look here:
https://www.familytreedna.com/learn/imports/autosomal-transfer/family-tree-dna-family-finder-transfer-program/
Only versions that will work on tranfsering into FTDNA are:
23andMe V3 and V4
AncestryDNA V1 and V2
MyHeritage
Notice this?
"After transferring, you can unlock all Family Finder (autosomal DNA matches) features, which include the Chromosome Browser, myOrigins, and ancientOrigins for only $19."
Please do come on over to where you get the most DNA tests and the most for your money!
