3) Permission to publish the DNA results and the names, dates and places of birth of the oldest known patrilineal or matrilineal ancestor.

Should you have any question regarding the possibility of your name being a Fraser, please email the Project Administrator - this is gailriddelldna@gmail.com
Please do join, and please do encourage others to join as well. If you have tested at another company and wish to join us, please contact us. The broader our base of DNA samples and known history, the better will be our understanding of the Fraser surname. Clan Fraser is one of the oldest and largest of all Scots clans. It has one Chief only, namely Simon Fraser who also happens to be Lord Lovat. It appears to enjoy a wealth of 'Sept' surnames - numbering over two hundred including variations. However, these are seldom officially recognised and until someone provides me a list of those surnames which have received "official" status, there is little that can be done. Some of the surnames are already supported by distinct surname projects such as Lovat or Simpson etc., but others appear to have no such distinction.
In this project, the aim is to establish actual bloodlines of the Fraser men as well as those of the Septs of the Clan Fraser. But not only that, it is a DNA project and if you have a match with a member irrespective of his surname, then your patrilineal ancestry will begin to be revealed. But do please contact us and say WHY you want to join (I wish to try an avoid the "Request" membership for as long as possible.
