I started the Cosgrove Surname Project in hopes of helping others who are conducting genealogical research into their Cosgrove family lines. While the Cosgrove surname is not entirely rare, it is an uncommon surname nonetheless, which makes genealogical research challenging at times. I myself have only recently broken through some brickwalls, thanks in part to DNA testing. I hope this project can pull together the many families researching their Cosgrove family lines in a collaborative effort to help one another breakdown these all too common brick walls. The project is meant to be inclusive, not exclusive. In other words, it is my intent to allow anyone to join the surname project as long as they can demonstrate a familial connection to a bona-a-fide Cosgrove ancestor.
