The aim of the CUF(F)LEY project is to research all bearers of the surname and its variants. In doing so it is compile an archive of records that gives the background to each family group and the movement of the family members about the world.

There are a number of clear family groups that have spread out from Hertfordshire, Middlesex and Hampshire over time. Our aim is to be able to relate all modern bearers of the surname to one of these groups.
