Welcome to the Cumbo US South Project, which documents the direct paternal ancestry of Cumbos who trace their family origins back to Emanuell Cambow (born early 1600s and lived in colonial Jamestown, Virginia) or to Cumbo ancestors born in the 1800s or earlier in the U.S. South (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and all other U.S. states that make up “The South”). All living males born with the last name Cumbo (or its derivatives) who have Y-DNA tested are invited to join our project. If you trace your Cumbo origins to Italy or Malta, consider joining the Cumbo Project. If you are not sure which project to join, feel free to contact administrators to either project for guidance.
