About us
Twenty-three men have been Y DNA-tested and some have had Family Finder (relationship)tests. Three ladies and three men of Curd families have had autosomal or Family Finder (FTDNA) tests.
Two samples representative of the chief U198 (or S29) CURD group were tested to 64 markers and one given a deep-clade test. Progress with complete testing of the Y chromosome is showing that further SNPs can be found below this U198 level. One Big-Y test was made and a unique family SNP was found.
I have my first sample with a possible origin of Ireland for the VA/KY USA family and I have tested to 64 markers on one. I am doing a Family Finder test since he does not know his grandfather.
A member from the new but significant branch from Tonbridge area in Kent, England, i.e. the Brenchley/Pembury branch has tested and a relationship test shows a match with either the man or the woman of an early 1800s married couple and the man was born in Maresfield.
