About us
The Dargins are a Northeast Caucasian ethnic group native to Dagestan region in the North Caucasus (see link). They speak the Dargwa language which is simply the standard variety of Dargin languages (see link). The Dargwa languages form Lak-Dargwa group within North-East Caucasian (NEC) language family (known also as Nakh-Daghestanian).

Dargins are mainly composed of these three Y-DNA haplogroups:
- J1-Z1842, associated with Kura-Araxes culture (NEC);
- R1b-Z2103, associated with Yamnaya culture (early Indo-Europeans);
- R1a-Z93, associated with Bronze Age nomads in Pontic-Caspian Steppe;
