About us

In each family there is one story teller who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. They are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So we do, because once we die we become a story. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. Have you ever stood in front of a grave and cried or wanted to tell ancestors that you have a wonderful family that you would be proud of or even stood in front of a grave and felt somehow there was love there for you? It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who you are as a person and why you do the things you do. Their bones are our bones and their flesh our flesh. The pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish and how they contributed to what we are today. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us. That we might be born who we are and remember them, so we do. With love and caring of each fact of their existence, because we are them and they are us. Our goal is to find as many story tellers of the different lineages that came from the little Hamlet in Deben, England and to group their families together even though the spelling of their last names may have changed over time, our Y-DNA will enable us to group our true families together.
