On the United States side, five distinct lines leading back to William Dudley have been proven.  It has also been shown that there is no probability of a familial relationship between William Dudley and Governor Thomas Dudley within genealogical time.  It has also been determined that there is no probability of a familial relationship between William Dudley and John Dudley, both of Guilford, Connecticut before 1700.  However, there may be a relationship between John Dudley of Guilford and Gov. Thomas Dudley of Massachusetts.  This possibility will require further exploration to prove or disprove. With the help of additional participants and also with more Y-111 and BigY700 DNA testing we hope to prove or disprove additional relationships.  We particularly need a (documented) Dudley-born male who is a direct descendant of Francis Dudley.
