About us
Hello everyone! My name is Chris Williamson and I am the new admin for this project. I have kept the below description of the group from the previous admin in place. It's my hope that when they find out the project is running again, former or inactive members will return.
I'm here to learn just like all of you and while I have some experience, I'm still an intermediate so please be patient. If you have advice or information it's always welcome. Together we can unravel the mystery of our shared (or not so shared) past! If you are a reasonably close match we'll add your surname to the project so that others with a similar name will also see the project when they search the Surname. Last names are more fickle than we like to think and there's no telling where the journey can take us. I myself an apart of multiple project's and you may want to be also.
It is highly recommended that you test to the highest level you can at one time before upgrading. It allows for better initial results and in the long run it saves you a few hundred dollars. If you are among siblings or close cousins and a lower level test has confirmed the match, perhaps splitting the cost of the Big Y is something you should look at. Testing up to the Y-111 level should be your most immediate goal. Don't forget about the mom's and when you have the chance get yourself the Full MtDna test.
I have activated the activity feed to allow chat and basic discussion. I look forward to hearing from everyone!
After much painstaking work, money spent and deliberation with other administrators, the "Phillip Lemuel Faulk Sr Super Group" within this project has been positively and definitively determined. This included not only Y paternal testing here but also extensive autosomal testing using Ancestry and Ancestry as a professional entity has separately verified this determination.
As such, the "Phillip Lemuel Faulk Sr Super Group" represents direct descendance through sons Richard, John Hinnant, Phillip Lemuel Jr, and William.
