FAQ
What is Y-chromosome testing for genetic genealogy and how can I learn more about this technology?
We can think of no better FAQ resource than that which is at the England GB Groups EIJ. See also the ISOGG Beginner's Guide and their wiki just for Y-DNA analysis. How can I join the group?
Press the "Join" request button and follow the instructions. An administrator will get back to you.
What about female Lunceford/Lunsfords?
Surname inheritance studies involving Y-DNA analysis only make sense for biological males. However, Lunceford/Lunsford females can have their male relatives tested (brothers, fathers, grandfathers, etc from the paternal line).
Do I need to be of direct descent of Baldwin Lunsford in order to join?
No. We welcome all genetic genealogists interested in the Lunceford and Lunsford lines with a colonial Virginia origin. But our current analysis would only make sense if you are in our direct line.
How can I find our more about the Fauquier Co., VA Lunceford/Lunsfords?
The Bull Run Mountain Memories blog is a great place to start. And always feel free to contact the group administrator with any questions you may have.
