This project is to see who lived in Friesland and the Frisian isles around the Waddensea. Special aim is to find out clans on the isle of Terschelling. Next to this we hope to find relations between different families in this region. This area is known in the 19th and early 20th century as a region from which a lot of people emigrated to Northern America. Our understanding of Friesland is the old Frisia, the coastal area between Belgium and Danmark. We advise males descending from Friesland and the Wadden Isles who want to join this group, to start with the Y-DNA 37 markertest. Dit is een project om te zien welke Y-DNAgroepen er in Friesland en op de Waddeneilanden woonden in vroeger tijden. Speciale aandacht is er voor de herkomst van families op het eiland Terschelling. Daarnaast hopen we verbanden te kunnen aantonen tussen verschillende families in dit gebied. Met Friesland bedoelen we Friesland in de meest ruime zin, dus het land van de Frisiae tussen Zwin en Elbe. Wij adviseren mannen wiens voorvaderen uit dit gebied komen en die aan dit project mee willen doen, om te beginnen met de Y-DNA 37 markertest.
