Now that we have participated in the gathering in Canada this summer, we have received multiple volunteers for the project, but alas, only one so far has been appropriate. We are looking for descendants of her great grandmother, but to no avail as of yet. This side preferred to "go white". We are searching direct line male descendants of the Polynesian men. We have enough documentation to identify them if they come forward, even if their Hawaiian name has been anglicized. Our group will be able to utilize the mitochondrial DNA to connect our charts and find our living relatives even if the Hawaiian allele has been lost because we have marriage and other certificates and records which prove they are Hawaiian.
