The goal of the project is to study possible relationships among Hicksons, Hixsons, and Hixons thoughout the world. Only males have Y-chromosomes, so only males whose paternal line is Hickson/Hixson/Hixon can participate. If you are female, you can have a male relative submit a sample for your line. To participate meaningfully, testees will need to share their direct male line ancestry back to the earliest known Hickson/Hixson/Hixon. If you have questions, please contact the project administrator at botteron@alum.mit.edu Free 12-marker Y-DNA test to any British man with the surname Hickson or any variation thereof provided you supply a pedigree chart (at least 5 generations of paternal line & wives). Oldest ancestor must have died before 1841. Proof required, no secondary sources.
