The Hope Family Surname Project seeks to define genetic relationships among the numerous and diverse Hope lines around the world. The surname project tests Y-DNA transmitted from father to son so direct Hope male descendents are encouraged to submit samples. Females are invited to encourage their male siblings and cousins carrying the Hope surname to submit their Y-DNA. If you are a male carrying the Hope surname, please consider submitting your DNA sample for testing. The more Hope males participating, the more we will all be able to learn about our ancestry. Even though mtDNA, tracking maternal ancestry, doesn't relate to Hope surname lineages, we welcome any Hope related mtDNA participants as well.
