We want to collect as many Magyar DNA samples as possible. We want to figure out how the people with Magyar surnames relate to neighbouring ethnic groups, does some special Magyar DNA features exist or not. Because of the relatively low income level in Hungary, donations from overseas Hungarians are more than welcome. A side-project is to find out more about small villages where interesting results can be taken. Now testing Szentpéterszeg in Southern Bihar is the priority, where the "nearly Native American" Q1a3 haplogroup was already found. Another priority is testing the isolated Csík area in Transylvania where several very interesting haplogroups were found (N1b, N1c1, Q1a2).
