About us
The main goals of the Jacobson project are:
- help Scandinavian-Americans with the family name Jacobsson - Jakobsen (with variants) to find their roots, and understand the Scandinavian genealogy and naming traditions
- assist in adding test kits to the more relevant Norwegian, Swedish and Danish Geographical Projects - and haplogroup projects if there is interest
- provide general information to the genealogy community about these names and the naming traditions of Scandinavia
- be a portal for DNA testing for all families with the last name Jacobson (and all other spellings), to enable these to get the project discount prices and also find other relevant projects to join
- be a research project for Jacobson lines originating in countries and cultures with older hereditary surnames
