About us

This project is open to those who's Y-DNA (father's father's father's...) or Mt-DNA (mother's mother's mother's...) line extends to Jalisco, México. It is understood that it was the custom in Colonial Spanish America to pass along a surname that may have come from the maternal side. With this in mind, with DNA it is possible to see relationships between people of different Surnames which would extend back to rather small gene pool some 500 years ago just after the Conquest of Jalisco (Nueva Galicia) by Nuño de Guzmán in 1530. These ancestors having the most descendants in Jalisco, México.
