About us

Families from Jałówka, Poland, Swislocz/Svisloch, Belarus and surrounding shtetls have scattered around the world.  This project helps them reconnect. There are many surnames associated with this area in indexes used for genealogy research.  Alternate town names: Jałówka [Pol], Yaluvka [Rus, Yid], Jałouka, Russian: Ялувка. יאלובקה- Hebrew. <br><br>.  The town's location is 53°01' N, 23°54' E, 40 miles ESE of Białystok, on the border with Belarus and 8km from its sister village Swislocz (Swisloch,Sislevich).
