About us
The Korean peninsula and its outlying islands have been settled by humans since Paleolithic times. And as such, the Korean people have unique origins that underscore their position as a separate, East Asian identity, a nation that prides itself in cultural continuity that has lasted for thousands of years. From the beginnings of Gojoseon to the current era, Korea has been home to various kingdoms, and within these kingdoms its people formed powerful clans whose family names live on to this day. Thus, the Korea DNA Project endeavors to connect modern Koreans to their past, and to each other.
