The McIver Group pioneers were five Y-DNA37 participants researching their male lineages. Growth in the project has been steady.  Both males and females use the mtDNA test to trace lineage through female ancestors, while the Y tests apply only to males. Autosomal DNA tests (Family Finder) will produce DNA segment matches with both male and female ancestors.  All participants in the McIver Group are welcome to pursue their genealogical research through any of these tests.  Members are invited to utilize the many educational resources available at familytreedna.com for guidance on the tests.
