Most Meagher/Maher/Mahars, and many Marrs have ancestral roots in a part of Ireland centered in County Tipperary. Because the surname is so closely tied to a specific area, this project could almost be considered a geographic project. The purpose of this project is to aid individuals in establishing (1) connections with related families and (2) connections with ancestral locations in Ireland. Additional results should help to verify ancient relationships with other clans in that part of Ireland. More information is on the project website.
