Eligibility: 1.You are male and have ordered/take the yDNA37 (or higher) test and either 2.You carry the Metcalfe (or related name) which you have inherited down the male line or 3.You have proven descent in the male line from a Metcalfe. The Metcalfe project has been set up by members of the Metcalfe Society (www.metcalfe.org.uk)seeking to establish the degree of connection between the many different Metcalfe family trees and closely related spellings of the name and to aid conventional genealogical research. The Society holds extensive information on these family trees which members have access to in their researches.

Project members are encouraged to join the Metcalfe Society and to contribute their family trees. The Society may be able to fill in details. Those wishing to join should provide details of the known male Metcalfes from which they are directly descended.
