About us

The Middletown Settlers DNA Project is a geographical project for descendants of one or more of the 89 first settlers who came to Middletown, Connecticut between the years of 1650 and 1700.  Its membership requirements are similar to those of the Society of Middletown First Settlers Descendants (SMFSD), but membership in the Society is not a prerequisite to joining the DNA group.  All that is required is that the person be descended from one of the original 89 settlers of Middletown and be able to prove such descent through DNA testing or documentary evidence, or a combination thereof.
