About us

The Miller - 1750 Rowan Co. NC Project was started on March 30, 2012 by Kevin Miller of Madisonville, KY. This project's main focus is to recruit Millers that descend from early Rowan Co. NC settlers. Rowan Co. NC was formed in 1753 from Anson Co. NC and covered a large area on the western frontier. Many German and Irish settlers began migrating south from Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia around 1750. The administrator descends from a German line of Millers that came to Rowan Co. NC in 1753 from Berks Co. PA. Johann Michael Müller came to America in 1739 on the Ship Samuel from Dörrenbach, Germany in the region of Saarbrücken. After landing in Philadelphia, the Müllers became members of the Christ Lutheran Church in Stouchsburg, PA in Lancaster Co. PA in 1743. Michael Müller and his sons, Wendel, Nicholas, and Caspar all came to Rowan Co. NC. Wendel was a Lieutenant in the Revolutionary War, a charter member of the Organ Lutheran Church, and a large land owner in Rowan Co. NC.
