mtDNA Haplogroup K. This project is mainly for those who have already taken an mtDNA, mtDNAPlus or mtFullSequence test at FTDNA or iGENEA and the results show that they are in haplogroup K. Other haplogroup K members may have transferred from the National Geographic Society Genographic Project. None of these members are required to order a test kit or take another test, although upgrading with mtDNARefine or the mtHVR1toMega or mtHVR2to Mega is highly recommended. Only order a test kit if you are new to FTDNA and have a maternal line relative in K. If in doubt, ask first.
