About us
New Zealand is a geographical place name which is why it is placed in the geographic section of the FTDNA Project's listing.
There are two New Zealand projects - one is based on testers' ancestors arriving to a particular province of New Zealand (this is the New Zealand Provincial DNA project and you are welcome to join this) and this one is based on genetic families, no matter where they arrived (or when). Thus all testers with Y DNA results and/or mitochondrial DNA results (mtDNA) will be grouped according to their genetic families.
The island nation is made up of a wide range of people from numerous ethnic backgrounds and the outcome of the results will be extremely interesting.
