MALE Noble results are possible with three different testing procedures.
a) yDNA Tests . Finds your Paternal lineage through your father's direct line back in time. Male members of a family carry an almost identical yDNA profile whether they be cousins, uncles, grandfathers, etc of a participant. This profile is then proliferated through time to ALL male descendants of that particular line. The y67 test is the standard within the series , and the y37 being also suitable.
b) mtDNA tests. Find the Maternal lineage through time to antiquity. Both men and women carry an mtDNA identity which is inherited via your mother, through her mother, your maternal grandmother, and back through time. Only females can pass this profile on to her sons and daughters, however males cannot pass this profile on at all to any of their offspring. Only daughters can pass on the mtDNA to their offspring.
c) Family Finder is a powerful autosomal test suitable for both men & women It seeks to find ALL relatives back approx 5 generations, however in order to find these genetic cousins other Family Tree DNA members need to have also undertaken this test. If you are seeking the direct ancestors on your paternal (father's Noble line) then the yDNA 67 test is the most appropriate for this purpose. If you are seeking ALL ancestors in the past 5 generations then Family Finder might suit you better.
