This project welcomes both Y-DNA and mtDNA test results of people whose Y/mt-ancestors' roots are to be found in Northern Italian regions and provinces: Valle d'Aosta, Piemonte, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Lombardia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, province of Massa-Carrara, province of Pesaro-Urbino. Moreover, this group encourages the participation of ethnic Italians from the neighbouring countries like in Ticino & Italian Grisons (Switzerland) and Istria (Slovenia and Croatia).
