June 2011: We regret to report that Kenny Hedgpeth, the original administrator and driving force behind the Northumberland Project, passed away on Friday, 1 June 2011. Kenny was a real live wire, as well as being a much-loved member of the genetic genealogy community, so we mourn his passing and send sincere condolences to his family and friends.
The new administrator of the Project is Belinda Dettmann, an Australian who has Northumberland ancestry, as well as various other ancestral links from different regions in England and Scotland. Her Northumberland forebears were Hardings, from a long line of that name whose lineage in the region can be traced back to the 1300s.
