1) Maintain a DNA database to assist with the verification of lineages on applications and supplemental applications when traditional documentation does not exist or is found to be in error;

2) Help preserve the genetic history of DAR members for future generations;

3) Identify member-reported Y-DNA lineages for previously verified Patriots so that prospective or current members interested in using the match lines may more easily identify DAR matches.
