The goals and objectives of the Pate DNA Project are:

Identify and connect with Pate relatives who were previously unknown, and then discovering the common ancestor

Break through or leap over formerly impenetrable "brick walls" in various Pate direct lines

Establish the different Pate family lines, especially identifying those left behind in family migrations

Validate existing genealogical research, or perhaps solve family mysteries

Prove or disprove theories about our Pate ancestors, including Pate origins in Europe and specifically the British Isles

Determine definitively if variants of the Pate surname (such as Payte) are directly related

Reduce wasted time, money, and effort in pursuing futile dead-end leads

Identify new targeted areas for intensive or renewed research
