1. Encourage SNP testing by project members and group the

                                       project member kits into subclades that enable members and

                                        researchers to identify possible geographic origins.

                                    2.  Create a reference website of early American Patterson

                                         immigrant families with each family’s STR signature derived

                                         from documented descendants.

                                    3.  Help Patterson family researchers break down long standing

                                         “brick walls” through the use of DNA analysis and find other

                                         researchers who are working on the same family lines.
