This group is not related to the Rothschild Banking Family that originated in Frankfurt. Many families took the name Rothschild during the early 19th century (some did earlier or later). This is for anyone whose family adopted the surname Rothschild. Scientists have discovered that a small section of the Y chromosome,found only in men, is passed from father to son, typically unchanged. I am trying both to cut down on voyeuristic joins / people hoping to "prove" a relationship to a/"THE" Rothschild family, and especially to help protect the privacy of existing members. The kit joined to the project should have the Rothschild surname or be closely related to an individual with the Rothschild surname (child or grandchild). In some cases, individuals with clearly documented research interests to a specific, previously identified, Rothschild family (or Family Member) will be admitted.
