About us
On the yDNA results page "cluster 1" is a group of people whose genetic distance is no more that 3 from each other. These people likely have Vincent Rongnion (1645) as one of their male line ancestors.
yDNA markers are generally passed down from father to son unchanged. Changes do happen and these changes can be a clue about an ancestor more recent than Vincent
- Descendants of Joseph Runyon (1710) all seem to have a mutation on DYS576 where it is 17 rather than 18. This mutation could have been introduced in Joseph, Isaac, or John.
- Descendants of Thomas Runyon (1675) seem to have a mutation on DYS570 where there is a 19 rather than an 18. This mutation most likely happened in Thomas himself rather than in his descendants.
